In the language of the teaching passed on by Gurdjieff it is proposed that even though we may be out of bed and functioning in life we are still, in fact, in a state of sleep.
Through intentional efforts to experience the truth of this statement
we may begin to discover what it is to truly awaken.

 **********

"We believe that to awake is to enter into an entirely
different life, which will have nothing in common with
the one we lead. But, in fact, awaking means, above
all, to awake to ourselves as we are, to see and feel
   the sleep, the identification."

(Jeanne de Salzmann; The Reality of Being; p. 80)

To awaken...
           To be mindful...
                            To meditate...
                                                           To be present...
To be in the moment…                                                                                                      Spiritual awakening...

through forms that put less emphasis on words and ideas
and more in favor of experiencing the development of meaningful
connections between mind, body and feeling.
